Lo ha detto il portavoce del Cremlino Dmitri Peskov spiegando "attraverso i canali diplomatici si sta lavorando a diverse date". Non appena verrà deciso il momento dell'incontro "lo annunceremo", ha aggiunto. Il portavoce ha poi informato che i due capi di Stato sono in costante contatto e che le relazioni russo-egiziane sono di estrema chiarezza e sincerità. Ancora da decidere, inoltre, se il vertice si terrà in Egitto o in Russia. Al Sisi è stato in visita in Russia, incontrando Putin, nell'agosto del 2014 a Sochi e a maggio del 2015 a Mosca, in occasione del 70esimo anniversario della vittoria sulla Germania nazista. Peskov did not specify where the next meeting would take place – in Russia or in Egypt. On August 12, 2014, the Egyptian president visited Sochi, where he held talks with the Russian leader. On May 9, 2015, he took part in celebrations in Moscow to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the victory over Nazi Germany in World War II. President Putin made an official visit to Cairo in February, 2015."
